Raw Log Preparation and Cutting

Once you got logs, the plywood panel fabrication starts with log and cutting into proper lengths. The quality of logs is critical, as they are directly related to veneer strength, surface smoothness and the final quality plywood.

Veneer Peeling Process

Logs are passed through a veneer peeling machine that rotates the log against a razor-like blade to create wood sheets. Why is this step so important, because the thickness and uniformity of the veneer surface type decide the durability and aesthetics of plywood in the end.

Veneer Drying Process

The green veneer is still saturated with moisture, and therefore it enters the machine to dry veneers. Drying is important to consumer experience (preventing spots, preventing warping) but also into the manufacturing phase: stable moisture level => no warping => good bonding strength in the press!

Glue Spreading and Layer Assembly

Once dried, the veneer is coated with glue using a veneer glue spreader machine. Cross-grain orientation of multiple layers is stacked, which increases strength, and stability making it less bendy or crack.

Cold Pressing and Hot Pressing Process

The plywood veneer stack is processed in a cold press first to stabilize the whole structure before going into hot pressing. Next they move to a plywood hot press machine, where their layers are adhered with heat and pressure, turning them into solid sheets of plywood permanently.

Trimming, Sanding, and Finishing

This implies that once pressed, the plywood is cut down to standard sizes and also goes through a plywood sanding machine. If for whatever reason, your surface area going to be applied in a piece of furniture, or used in constructions, or they are further laminated this will only improving the flatness (improvessurface smooth) sanding.
