Step 1: Preparation of the log and tenderizing
First the appropriate logs are chosen, such as eucalyptus, poplar, pine or rubberwood. The process begins with a tenderizing step, where the logs are forced through steel rollers, compressing and softening the wood fibers before peeling. It minimizes internal stress allowing for easier peeling of the logs while also increasing veneer quality and reducing cracking.
Step 2: Log Feeding and Centering
Feed the tenderlog into the spindleless veneer peeler and automatically / manually adjust the position. They are direct driven pressure rollers which hold the log without relying on conventional center spindles. This keeps rotation smooth, and peeling stable throughout.
Step 3: Continuous Veneer Peeling
The precision peeling knife is constantly producing a thin layer of veneer as the pressure rollers rotate the log. An automatic hydraulic feeding system moves the knife and roller position based on the log diameter to yield consistent veneer thickness and smooth surface quality.
Step 4: Cutting and collecting veneer
The unending veneer ribbon transfers to a clipping, or cutting system that cuts the material into sheets of needed size. The finished veneer material is either set aside or transported through a conveyor to the next process, be it drying, grading (by size/thickness) or plywood assembly.
Step 5 : Lower Core & More Wood, What Else
It proceeds through peeling away various parts of the core until only a small residue remains. The spindle-less design and tenderizing technology significantly improve the recovery rate of veneer, reduces the waste of raw materials in production, makes full use of wood, and produces high-quality veneer for plywood, LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber), furniture panels and other engineered wood products.
